The shop on US-175
Big Sky Metals started in 2008 as a small custom metalwork shop serving the Kaufman area, and grew the old fashioned way: by doing the job right and answering the phone. Today it is a full service job shop cutting, welding, and finishing steel, stainless, and aluminum for customers across Kaufman County, the Cedar Creek Lake towns, and, for parts work, the whole country.
The floor runs 5 by 10 foot CNC tables with both HD plasma and oxy fuel torches, Thermal Dynamics cutting systems from 30 to 300 amps, and a weld bay covering MIG, TIG, stick, and aluminum. Experience spans agriculture, oilfield, and medical fabrication, which means the quality bar is set by industries that do not accept excuses.
Ask around Kaufman and you will hear the same name in the reviews: Kevin. Customers mention him by name because projects here get personal attention from design through install, whether it is a production run of brackets or a one of a kind driveway entrance with the family brand cut in steel.
